CYSA CUP APPLICATIONS ARE NOW BEING ACCEPTED!!!

September 20th, 2008 by Derek Fox | No Comments | Filed in News

The most expedient method of completing the , Association Cup or Founders’ Cup application process and to receive a speedy confirmation of the team’s acceptance into the Cup is to use the online application and payment system and to submit a scanned copy of the official of the team roster which includes the District Registrars stamp and a copy of the online entry receipt by email to kkillion@cysanorth.org in the Programs Department of the Office.

Applying using the online entry and payment system not only gives your team immediate email confirmation that your entry form and payment have been received, but it also allows the team application to be recorded in the electronic database and available for staff review and response in real time. Submitting the online application receipt and approved team roster by scanning and emailing allows staff to send an email response immediately after opening the email.

For early confirmation and peace of mind, PLEASE submit your application and follow up documents as early as possible.

Don’t risk the frustration of not knowing whether or not the application has arrived. Don’t gamble on the post office delivering your documents on time. Don’t spend time worrying about whether the application is completed correctly. Don’t waste time wondering whether or not your team has been accepted. Don’t take a chance on a check not clearing the bank. Apply and pay online early by accessing the online entry form on the cup pages at www.cysanorth.org in order to ensure a stress-free Cup application process. Your team an d you will be glad you did!!

Several teams have asked us about fundraising activities that they could do to raise money for their team around the Valley Cup Tournament. There are two activities:

1. Sponsor Ads in the Valley Cup Program
Teams can sell Valley Cup Program advertising space to local businesses. If the team sells a minimum of $1000 they will get 30% of the revenue generated. The ads cost: Read the rest of this entry »

Try-and-you’re-Out! 10 years olds too young for “meat market”

Soccer California Oct. 1997

A very large group of people occupy one side of the field as opposed to the handful of individuals found on the opposite side. It is difficult to tell if the larger group’s presence is appreciated since no one acknowledges their being. The demeanor of the large group seems extremely unnatural for the setting because an eerie silence envelops their side of the field. Only their piercing s eyes are excessively active, focusing on the small group of adults across the field. Read the rest of this entry »

San Ramon Soccer Presents a Day at the San Jose Earthquakes Game!

May 15th, 2008 by Derek Fox | 1 Comment | Filed in News

The San Jose Earthquakes are back! San Ramon Soccer is an All-Star Youth Partner with the Earthquakes, and we are announcing a Special Day with the Earthquakes for their game against the L.A. Galaxy on June 14 at McAffee (Oakland) Coliseum. We thought many SRS teams might want to have a team bonding day for this event so we purchased seats for the game and made special arrangements for recognition of our club. SRS has arranged for tailgating space in Parking Lot B for you starting at 4:30 pm, an on-field parade for our players before the game at about 6:30 pm and a seating Section for our teams so we can sit together. To make sure that your team can sit together at the game, we’d like someone from your team (you, the Team Mom or a team parent volunteer) to identify how many tickets your team will need and collect the money ($30 per seat in Plaza Level Section 216). Player Development Program

May 12th, 2008 by Derek Fox | 2 Comments | Filed in News

The NorCal Premier League is excited to announce the creation of Player Development Program (PDP) Regional Training Program.

Philosophy of the Regional Training Program

We have modeled our Regional Training Program after successful training programs in Austria, France, and Belgium, where the top players are offered additional training opportunities - in the area they live. Our program’s philosophy follows a world-wide movement to train “the best players with the best players”. We believe we can work hand in hand with the clubs to ensure our top players are afforded every chance to fulfill their potential.

We are committed to creating a program which cooperates with the clubs, their coaches, teams and players. Every effort will be made to schedule training days with as few conflicts with the club’s player development program. Players should always fulfill their commitment to their club first.

PDP Regional Training Program

Beginning this June, the PDP Regional Training Program will offer a pool of recommended players in 1 to 2 trainings per month, at a site within their region. This will allow the top players from each region to train together. The players will receive the training, free of charge, from a staff of top coaches selected by the PDP State Technical Staff. In addition, we will continue to bring international professional coaches and college coaches for training sessions - at the Regional Training Programs site.

Regional Age Groups:
Boys & Girls - 97, 96, 95, 94

Regional Training Programs in:

Region 2 - Peninsula
Region 3& 4 - East Bay
Region 5 - North Bay
Region 6 - Sacramento
Region 8 - Modesto Area

Regional Training Programs - Regional Directors:

Region 2 - Peninsula - Gary Ireland
Region 3& 4 - East Bay - TBA
Region 5 - North Bay - Gabe Rood
Region 6 - Sacramento - Shawn Blakeman
Region 8 - Modesto Area - TBA

PDP State Program
Every 3 - 4 months the Regional Training Centers will come together for State PDP Training and Game Sessions. These sessions, held at a central site, will allow the State PDP staff to watch the players compete against each other. The goal of these sessions are to develop a PDP State Pool of players and provide additional player development opportunities. The first State Training and Game Day will be held this July.

State Level Age Groups:
93 & 92 - These age groups will be held at the state level only.

Player Development Program Goals

1. Identify - Work with the club directors, club coaches and PDP scouts who identify and recommend the top players to the PDP.
2. Develop - Provide additional top level training and player development opportunities to the recommended players
3. Showcase - Recommend to US Club ID2 camp our top players and host showcasing opportunities with college coaches or professional coaches from other countries

Recommending Players:
We are investing in the www.norcalpremier.com website. The registration process will be online in future. We will send out an announcement shortly to let you know when you may recommend the players online. Only coaches and coaching directors will have the ability to recommend players. This should be available in Mid - May. All players will have to be re - recommended.
