3 Tiered Shooting Drill

October 1st, 2008 by Derek Fox | No Comments | Filed in Videos

This is an awesome team drill that I enjoy doing with the team. It will give each player three shots on goal from long shots, one touch finish and volley finish. Make sure that you focus on hitting the ball into the corner and it is not about power but placement.

Join NorCal Coaches for ACF Fiorentina Clinics

September 21st, 2008 by Derek Fox | No Comments | Filed in Clinic & Camps, coaching

Hello Coaches -
We have over 200 coaches registered for the upcoming ACF Fiorentina Clinics and registration is still open. Next week, we will be hosting Director of Soccer, Sandro Mencucci and the Director of Coaching, Vincenzo Vergine from ACF Fiorentina.

One of the most important steps we can take in Northern California is to educate ourselves. We, as coaches, have a huge impact on the quality of soccer in our area. It is vital we continue our soccer education - for our players sake! If you have the time to attend the sessions but have not signed up - please do!

Vincenzo Vergine will cover the recommended training emphasis for the 96 - 95 - 94 - 93 ages. With powerpoint and video he will present the methods of training and the amount of tactical, technical, and physical training their coaches perform per age group. The afternoon sessions will feature the Norcal Premier PDP staff running sessions with selected PDP players with Vincenzo Vergine providing feedback and review to the coaches in attendance.

We recognize it can be difficult to give up a day of work or family to attend this course but we think it will be well worth it. Feel free to attend either the morning or the afternoon sessions or both.

Thanks - Benjamin Ziemer

ACF Fiorentina Philosophy

“We get together every week, with the coaches and the coaches from every level and we exchange ideas but also to ensure that we are faithful to the club’s objectives.”

” In the youth categories the main job is to develop the players technically, rather than tactically.”

“Results at youth level are important in as far as they provide a guide to whether you’re going in the dierection but they are not absolute priority. Good results don’t come by themselves, they are the result of the right kind of work. But the real result for us will be when we bring a player through to the first team, which will hopefully happen in two to three years.”

” We follow these boys step by step, monitoring the development of their character and ethical behaviour. We have five tutors , who have a very important role in looking after the boys, helping them to solve their problems and reassure that their children are being properly looked after.”

CYSA CUP APPLICATIONS ARE NOW BEING ACCEPTED!!!

September 20th, 2008 by Derek Fox | No Comments | Filed in News

The most expedient method of completing the , Association Cup or Founders’ Cup application process and to receive a speedy confirmation of the team’s acceptance into the Cup is to use the online application and payment system and to submit a scanned copy of the official of the team roster which includes the District Registrars stamp and a copy of the online entry receipt by email to kkillion@cysanorth.org in the Programs Department of the Office.

Applying using the online entry and payment system not only gives your team immediate email confirmation that your entry form and payment have been received, but it also allows the team application to be recorded in the electronic database and available for staff review and response in real time. Submitting the online application receipt and approved team roster by scanning and emailing allows staff to send an email response immediately after opening the email.

For early confirmation and peace of mind, PLEASE submit your application and follow up documents as early as possible.

Don’t risk the frustration of not knowing whether or not the application has arrived. Don’t gamble on the post office delivering your documents on time. Don’t spend time worrying about whether the application is completed correctly. Don’t waste time wondering whether or not your team has been accepted. Don’t take a chance on a check not clearing the bank. Apply and pay online early by accessing the online entry form on the cup pages at www.cysanorth.org in order to ensure a stress-free Cup application process. Your team an d you will be glad you did!!

Go to http://www.cysanorth.org/#%20CUP%20ONLINE%20REGISTRATION to begin the application process.
